The fundamental mechanism of an excavator consists of the undercarriage that includes the tracks, track frame, blade and the finalexcavator track (components) drive. The final drive has a hydraulic motor and gears that provide drive to the tracks. The operators cabin, engine, counterweights, hydraulic and fuel tanks are attached to the undercarriage, enabling the excavator to swing 360° without any hindrance.
Excavator is the machine that can excavate the soil of various types forcefully and then using hydraulic system a hydraulic force is generated and utilizing this force bucket is pull back towards the machine. Bucket of excavator is replaceable. If front bucket is exchange with some other attachments then excavator can be used for multi-purpose. For example: pile diver, hydraulic jack hammer etc…
There are two main types of "Control" configuration generally use in excavators to control the boom and bucket, both of which spread the four main digging controls between two x-y joysticks. This allows a skilled operator to control all four functions simultaneously. The most popular configuration in the US is the SAE controls configuration while in other parts of the world, the ISO control configuration is more common. Some manufacturers such as Takeuchi have switches that allow the operator to select which control configuration to use.
